Joy

"When I think of the goodness of Jesus
And all He has done for me
My soul cries out Hallelujah
Thank God for saving me."

This beautiful cry of gratitude is one of the most memorable praises I recall from attending church as a child. I couldn’t have imagined what these words would mean to me later in life. When I speak on the goodness of Jesus there’s a miraculous feeling that stirs up inside me. I call it joy.

My joy comes from a place I can’t fully describe but it butterflies within me, guides me, comforts me, and lifts me to a surreal high. It wraps me in a cape of fearlessness yet takes my breath away because this type of peace is so unfamiliar with its’ power, love, and kindness how could it possibly be here to stay? It brings a smile of sunshine making me forget about the cloudy days. It overcomes me with its’ mightiness reassuring me He’ll take the pain away. All I can do is waive my hand in gratitude and praise His holy name thanking Jesus for his power instilled within me that no-one can take away. -ALM
