Happy Valentine’s Day!
In the midst of flowers, gifts, and prince-charming chivalry, which I’m sure is well-deserved and well-done, I would like to encourage us to take a minute to look beyond the surface and face the fact that the pomp and circumstance doesn’t mean anything if we haven’t first got to know, accept and fallen in love with the person and that person is YOU.
You are that extraordinary person who wakes up every morning doing the best he or she can to live life the best way you know how. This act alone is a powerful decision to “choose me”. For that, I applaud you. Whether you made that choice consciously or subconsciously, you are operating in love. If you have to think about if this choice was for you or for others, that’s OK because your choice was still in love but please remember, you deserve to choose you too. You must show up every day for yourself before you can truly show up for others in the best way possible.
Last but not least, congratulations on not waiting to be chosen. Daily acts such as valuing yourself, self-improvement and sharing your unique gifts demonstrate no validation is needed, whether you’re in a romantic relationship or not.
After all, love first chose you.
